Labouchere system is a betting system which is also known under the names "Cancellation system", "Negative progression system", "Cross-out system" or "Split martingale". There are some variations of this betting system, among which we should mention "Reverse Labouchere". Except Labouchere and Reverse Labouchere other popular systems can be used in the process of roulette betting.
Labouchere line
At the very beginning of the game the player needs to determine how much money he or she is going to win. Then it is necessary to write down positive numbers which in total will make the determined amount of winning. The Labouchere line can be short or long. For example, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 1, 1, 1, 3, 7, 9.
Even-money bets
The roulette gamblers can apply the Labouchere system to even money bets, such as Red-Black, Even-Odd, 1-18 or 19-36.
The basics of Labouchere system
The written numbers in the player's Labouchere line represent the amounts of the bets. The first bet is a sum of the first and the last number in the line. Let's take as an example the next Labouchere line 1, 2, 3, 4. The first bet will be 5 (1+4). In case of a win, the gambler crosses out these two numbers (1 and 4). In the opposite case - the wagered amount is added to the end of the Labouchere line and it will look like this 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. When all numbers are crossed out of the line, the roulette player won.
The basics of Reverse Labouchere
The principles of Reverse Labouchere are the following. After the win - the numbers are not deleted (as in classical Labouchere) but added to the end of the Labouchere line. After the loss - the numbers are deleted.
